Grupo Unvesco was established in 1993 after the merger of two companies with a long history in the food distribution sector (Unialco and Ves). Since it was established, it has constantly developed based on three pillars: service excellence, a high-quality range of products, and a commitment to fresh and local produce.
Its scope of action is the Basque Country, Cantabria, Navarre, and La Rioja, where it mainly operates under the banner of BM Supermercados (in addition to Super Amara in Gipuzkoa).
To serve its sales outlets, it runs four logistics platforms for storage and fresh produce in Irun (Gipuzkoa) and in Corrales de Buelna and Sámano (Cantabria), totalling 63,600 m2.
True to its principles, today Uvesco runs more than 200 supermarkets and employs over 3,800 people; becoming one of the leading companies in the north of the peninsula.
