Pescados Ladimar is a company dedicated to the wholesale of fish, shellfish and other sea products, and markets them whole, sliced, or deep-frozen. The company was established in 1998 in San Juan de Luz by Mikel Arregui, and is currently based at Merka-Oiartzun (Gipuzkoa).
It exports 90% of its business to the European Union and other countries. Its philosophy is based on preserving the tradition of fishing and on its commitment to sustainability and responsible fisheries, which translates into its preference for small-scale fishing in coastal waters, line fishing from small boats (sea bass, hake, gilt-headed bream) and from tuna boats (bluefin tuna, yellowfin tuna).
It is the first Basque food company that has been accepted by the Collége Culinaire of France, created by the most prestigious French chefs. In 2018, it is expected to launch a fish delivery service for restaurants.
